PATCH ADAMS coaxed from the gate, chased along the inside from just off the pace, came under urging three furlongs out, spun just off the inside into upper stretch, rallied to issue a challenge inside the final furlong latching on to the inside of the leader, dug in dueling through to the finish and was up in the final jumps to score. CAPTAIN COOK broke in a step at the start making light contact with SMOKEN WICKED, pressed the pace two to three wide, came under coaxing at the five-sixteenths, angled five wide into upper stretch, took over command at the three-sixteenths, dug in under threat to the inside and fought gamely to the finish but was ultimately bested in the last jumps to the line. BARNES coaxed from the start, chased just off the inside patiently handled until let out angled six wide at the head of the stretch, dug in under a drive and ran on through to the finish to secure the show honors. CHANCER MCPATRICK coaxed from the gate, chased two to three wide detached at the tail of the field down the backstretch, went four wide through the turn coming under urging with five-sixteenths to run, went nine to ten wide into upper stretch and improved position through the stretch to the finish. MADAKET ROAD five then four wide in pursuit, got ridden along nearing the quarter pole, angled seven wide into upper stretch, weakened in the late stages. MIDLAND MONEY coaxed from the gate, cut the pace along the inside under pressure from CAPTAIN COOK to the outside, got placed to coaxing nearing the quarter pole and went three wide at that station, yielded the front with three-sixteenths to go and weakened through to the end. SMOKEN WICKED tossed his head and broke out a step at the start and was bumped by CAPTAIN COOK lightly and in turn made light contact with VERIFIRE, chased four then three wide under urging from the five-sixteenths, angled six wide for home and tired. VERIFIRE bobbled at the break and was bumped very lightly by SMOKEN WICKED due to pressure from CAPTAIN COOK, chased three wide pushed along from three furlongs out, went nine wide at the head of the stretch in the midst of giving way and was eased home to the wire.
