SOVEREIGNTY came away in good order, settled between horses in the two path, stalked the leaders early on the far turn, was roused nearing the three-eighths pole, moved to the three path while gaining late on that bend, rallied to the lead in the four path into upper stretch, kicked clear inside the three-sixteenths pole, was given one tap of a down-turned crop into the final furlong, widened while given one tap of a right-handed crop outside the sixteenth-pole then was eased up late while much the best. BRACKET BUSTER established a forward position early, rounded the first turn in the two path, prompted the pace on the outside, turned up the pressure on the leader in the three path early on the far turn, took the advantage with three furlongs to run, dropped to the two path while roused later on that bend, lost the advantage to the winner into upper stretch, remained on his inside lead in the drive and proved no match while well clear for the place. MAGNITUDE bobbled ever so slightly at the start, was coaxed to the front, raced inside on the first turn, showed the way a bit off the rail on the backstretch, was asked into the far turn, vied inside while urged along early on that bend, lost the advantage with three furlongs to run, dropped back outside the quarter-pole, spun into the stretch in the three path and tired while well clear for third purse money.
