Footnotes
MAY DAY READY broke out and hit the gate then bumped with a foe, became keen under restraint and tossed her head a bit early, was let out some then went to the front with seven furlongs to run, showed the way while well rated in the two path on an easy lead, had the rider take a peek behind him late on the far turn, responded well when asked at the quarter-pole, remained clear under a strong hand-ride into the final furlong, was put to a right-handed crop outside the sixteenth-pole and held under strong urging. PLAY WITH FIRE saved ground while reserved on the inside, was shut-off by EPONINE near the seven-sixteenths pole then taken up while squeezed back, raced inside while now caught behind horses on the far turn, was roused after turning into upper stretch, rallied in the two path into the final furlong and closed well but missed while clear for the place. EPONINE (IRE) came outward at the start, led early then conceded the front, saved ground on the first turn, tracked off the hedge on the backstretch, dropped in and shut-off the runner-up near the seven-sixteenths pole, raced inside on the far turn, was asked near the quarter-pole then came off the inside in upper stretch, pursued the winner in the drive and lacked the needed kick while able to get the show. REINING FLOWERS bumped with a rival near the wire for the first time, tucked into the two path on the first turn, was reserved off the pace, moved from the two path to the four path on the far turn, was roused near the five-sixteenths pole and lacked the needed kick. WARMING brushed the outside of the gate at the start then bumped with foes on both sides, was squeezed back between horses early, tugged on the bit under tight restraint while inside on the first turn, raced at the rear under reserve, checked near the seven-sixteenths pole then the runner-up was shuffled back in front, moved from the two path to the five path while roused on the far turn, turned into upper stretch under a drive and failed to rally. SCARLET SANDS bumped with a rival at the start, bumped with another foe near the wire for the first time, tucked into the two path under tight restraint on the first turn, was reserved outside without cover on the backstretch, went around the far turn in the three path, was roused late on that bend, dropped back under a drive in upper stretch and weakened.
