Footnotes
KALAHARI DREAMS was hustled to the front, showed the way under pressure to his outside, vied along the rail under urging on the turn, spun off the rail under a pop of a right-handed crop into upper stretch, shook off a foe near the eighth-pole, responded well under a strong hand-ride in the final furlong and proved best. VOILA MAGIC settled under some restraint, raced in hand between foes late on the backstretch, rounded the turn in the two path, was roused outside the quarter-pole, turned into the stretch in the three path, kept on well in pursuit of the winner in the stretch and showed good courage to get up for the place. GARDINER was hustled from the gate, pressed the pace on the outside then in the three path on the turn, battled outside the winner under a drive in upper stretch, dropped back into the final furlong and weakened then lost the place while clear for the show. FORT NELSON was well placed just off the pace on the inside, saved ground on the turn, dropped back late on that bend then shifted to the three path, spun into the stretch in the five path then dropped in some and lacked the needed response. SINGLEMINDED was reluctant to load, broke out at the start, tracked the pace on the outside, chased in the four path on the turn and tired. FILOSO showed no speed, dropped well behind under a vigorous hand-ride, raced inside for most of the turn then moved to the two path and was no factor.
