RHETORICAL was taken in hand early then tucked in, rounded the first turn in the two path, was reserved in the middle of the field, ranged up while shifting from the two path to the four path on the far turn, rallied to the lead into the stretch then kicked clear while set down, drifted in under a right-handed crop at the furlong marker, switched to a left-handed crop and was given one pop inside the sixteenth-pole and proved best under steady urging. BETTRLUCKYTHANGOOD saved ground on the first turn, was unhurried at the rear, came under urging late on the backstretch, angled from the two path to the five path while getting closer on the far turn, turned into upper stretch under a drive, pursued the winner to the finish and willingly earned the place. CONMAN went around the first turn in the three path, settled on the outside, was roused near the seven-sixteenths pole, moved from the three path to the four path while getting closer on the far turn, dropped back in upper stretch and lacked the needed response while able to get the show. CLEAR CONSCIENCE saved ground while reserved off the pace, moved closer on the far turn, shifted to the two path late on that bend, was roused in the three path into the stretch and also lacked the needed response. GEM MINT TEN was sent hard to get the lead, showed the way on the inside, lost the advantage under urging late on the backstretch, vied inside on the far turn, dropped back at the five-sixteenths pole and faded.
