Footnotes
FREDO advanced after the start to take command just under the wire the initial time tucked to the two path inside the seven-eighths marker into the first turn impeding TUT'S REVENGE and forcing that foe to check off his heels and an additional pair of rivals to later course outwards, settled showing the way in hand just off the inside and then along the inside coming under coaxing near the quarter pole, spun three wide into upper stretch, dug in under a drive under threat from a host of pursuers and held on in a blanket finish at the wire. RUSE broke in at the start bumping WONDERFUL JUSTICE, tracked the pace along the inside patiently handled until roused taking the two path into upper stretch, angled back to the rail inside the eighth pole and surged late inside to miss at the end. WONDERFUL JUSTICE (GB) got bumped at the start by RUSE, who broke inwards, raced along the inside and was forced to alter out three wide into the first turn carrying JOHNY'S FIREBALL four wide when TUT'S REVENGE checked in front when impeded by FREDO, tracked just off the inside and then along the inside coming under a ride at the five-sixteenths, spun three wide into upper stretch, dug in under a drive rallying through the final sixteenth and missed at the finish. TUT'S REVENGE forwardly placed from the gate, led briefly before being displaced from command by FREDO just under the wire the first time, had that foe tuck directly in front to the two path and was impeded just inside the seven-eighths marker into the first turn and forced to check off his heels sending an additional pair of rivals in behind altering outwards, advanced on that rival and prompted the pace from the outside three then two wide coming under urging near the quarter pole, swung four wide into upper stretch, dug in under a drive keeping on to the finish. JOHNY'S FIREBALL got altered out four wide into the first turn in concert with WONDERFUL JUSTICE when TUT'S REVENGE got checked off the heels of FREDO in front, tracked the pace three then two wide from just off the pace, came under coaxing at the five-sixteenths, angled five wide into upper stretch, offered up a mild bid but was outfinished to the end. BELOUNI (FR) got bumped at the start by SON OF A BIRCH, who broke inwards, raced two to three wide in pursuit from near the rear of the field, got set down angled six wide into upper stretch, offered up a bid but was outfinished. SON OF A BIRCH broke in at the start bumping BELOUNI, then came in nearing the wire the first time and put the squeeze on a pair of foes which pinched out IRWIN from between rivals, chased three then two wide, got let out angled four wide into upper stretch, offered up a mild bid but was outkicked. IRWIN (IRE) got squeezed out between foes due to pressure outside from SON OF A BIRCH the first time under the wire, saved ground in pursuit from near the rear of the field coming under coaxing near the quarter pole, took the inside route into upper stretch, made no headway. There was a Stewards' Inquiry into the first turn as well as a Claim of foul by the rider of TUT'S REVENGE alleging interference against FREDO into the first turn. After review, it was deemed that FREDO had caused interference to TUT'S REVENGE and as a result FREDO was disqualified from first and placed fourth prior to the race being declared official.
