IN THE DARK broke out at the start and was corrected, pulled on the bit eager early on establishing the front and spurting away along the inside, came under a firmer rating hold into the backstretch and was throttled down a bit allowing the field to take closer order in behind, settled nearing the far turn and continued along the inside patiently handled through to taking the inside route into upper stretch, got let out straightened away, dug in under a drive safe to the eighth pole, came under threat to the outside from the runner up and knocked heads to the finish getting the bob on the wire. URGENCY broke out at the start and was corrected, tracked the pace along the inside coming under coaxing near the quarter pole, angled five wide into upper stretch, rallied to issue a challenge inside the final furlong dueling through the final sixteenth and just lost the nod on the line. MAXIMUM PROMISE saved ground in pursuit from mid pack, tipped to the two path with five-sixteenths to go before angling three wide into upper stretch, offered up a mild kick to closed in belatedly and secure the show honors. SALT SPARTAN tracked the leader in closest aim along the inside coming under encouragement with five-sixteenths to go, spun just off the inside into upper stretch, stayed on one paced through to the finish. MADAGASCAR settled tracking the leader just off the inside patiently handled until placed to urging near the quarter pole, swung three wide at the top of the stretch, weakened in the late stages. LIGHT CAV settled just off the inside near the rear of the field, came under encouragement with five-sixteenths remaining, angled five wide into upper stretch and offered no response. CHIPS AND FISH stumbled at the break getting away last, raced just off the inside through the first turn and then three paths off the rail down the backstretch until tucked inside with seven-sixteenths to go, came under coaxing three furlongs out, spun three then two wide into upper stretch and had no kick. SHARONS PHAROAH three then two wide through the first turn, chased just off the inside under a ride from the five-sixteenths pole, tipped three wide for home and tired.
