Footnotes
ANTIQUARIAN raced three then two wide through the first turn and then three paths off the inside down the backstretch, tucked to the two path into the far turn and came under encouragement at the five-sixteenths, angled four wide into upper stretch, dug in under a drive rallying to take command a sixteenth from home, then edged away to the finish kept to task. SIERRA LEONE got forced to alter out two to three paths around a fallen rider and was able to step around without making contact while doing so with nine and a half furlongs to run, went three to four wide through the first turn and then five paths off the inside down the backstretch settled at the tail of the field, tucked four then three wide through the far turn coming under urging three furlongs from home, angled out seven wide into upper stretch, closed well through the final eighth, lugged in inside the final forty yards and was corrected while securing the place honors in the final jumps to the finish. PHILEAS FOGG lightly coaxed from the gate, got directed in with the left rein to tuck inwards and went in with a rush which in turn forced CONTRARY THINKING to shy in bumping WHITE ABARRIO into MINDFRAME, raced forwardly placed three wide through the first turn before tipping five to six paths off the inside down the backstretch, began to advance on the leader nearing the half mile pole and went three wide through the far turn coming under coaxing with five-sixteenths to go and taking over command inside that station, continued three wide into upper stretch, dug in under a drive under threat to the outside, got collared a sixteenth out and ran on to preserve the show honors on the wire. HIGHLAND FALLS angled in slightly and got forced to check with nine and a half furlongs to run and in turn forced DISARM to check in behind him along the rail when the bumping incident occurred just to the outside of him, raced two to three wide through the first turn and then went five paths off the inside down the backstretch, tucked four wide through the far turn and came under a ride with seven-sixteenths remaining, tipped six wide at the head of the stretch and offered up a mild kick. WHITE ABARRIO coaxed from the barrier, got bumped solidly by the shying in CONTRARY THINKING and in turn bumped MINDFRAME solidly forcing the rider off balance to the right side and losing the left side iron as the rider of MINDFRAME briefly became a second passenger for a stride grabbing on in a reactionary move before dropping to the ground, got steadied as the rider sat back to gain his balance and then quickly got the left iron back in place, raced three wide through the opening bend off the top pair but from a distance, went the widest, seven paths off the inside down the backstretch, tucked four wide through the far turn and came under motivation with three furlongs to run, angled five wide into upper stretch, weakened in the drive while passing a pair of tired rivals late. DISARM broke a half a beat slow, then got checked down along the rail in behind HIGHLAND FALLS, chased just off the inside and then along the inside into the first turn before tipping out to the two path down the backstretch, continued just off the inside through the far turn coming under coaxing at the three-eighths marker, spun two to three wide at the top of the stretch and made no impact. CONTRARY THINKING coaxed from the gate, had PHILEAS FOGG angle inwards and shied in bumping WHITE ABARRIO heavily into MINDFRAME, escaped further issue and established the front to show the way in hand along the inside, settled into a comfortable rhythm through swift splits down the backstretch having widened away to a commanding lead, had the field take closer order into the far turn and came under light coaxing midway on that bend, got collared just inside the five-sixteenths, took the inside route into upper stretch and tired through to the finish. MINDFRAME bobbled at the break, recovered under light coaxing, then got bumped solidly by WHITE ABARRIO in the right front shoulder due to pressure from the shying in CONTRARY THINKING and PHILEAS FOGG who got directed inwards and tucked with a rush, which in turn tossed the rider from the saddle off to the right side while still holding his reins and onto WHITE ABARRIO momentarily knocking that rival's rider askew and out of an iron before being dropped to the ground where he seemed to get contact from his own charge MINDFRAME just prior to SIERRA LEONE stepping around him, MINDFRAME ran with the field without causing incident sans rider and was apprehended by the outrider and walked off under his own power. There was a Stewards' inquiry focusing on the incident just after the start. After review, PHILEAS FOGG was disqualified from third and unplaced prior to the race being declared official.
