Footnotes
STARS AND STRIDES was well placed just off the pace on the inside, moved to the two path late on the far turn, dropped back to an open hedge while roused in upper stretch, rallied inside to get the lead inside the furlong marker, shook clear coming to the sixteenth-pole and prevailed under steady handling. MAGIC PATHWAY saved ground while reserved off the pace, dropped back leaving the backstretch, raced inside on the far turn, was roused in the two path into upper stretch, dropped in behind horses just inside the furlong marker and finished with good courage to just get the place. ASBURY PARK (GB) was restless in the gate, broke in and hit the gate, was unhurried at the rear in the two path, shifted to the four path while roused late on the far turn, turned into the stretch in the six path, rallied outside in the final furlong and finished with good energy to just miss the place while able to get the show. CRUDO prompted the pace on the outside in the three then two path, was asked in the three path at the quarter-pole, took a short lead before the three-sixteenths pole, led under a drive into the final furlong, was overtaken by the winner outside the sixteenth-pole and was outfinished then just missed the trifecta. LEON BLUE broke hard through the front of the gate prior to the start but remained in the stall, went to the front, dropped from the two path to the rail early on the first turn, showed the way on the inside of an opponent, vied inside on the far turn, was given his cue inside the five-sixteenths pole, lost the advantage in the two path near the three-sixteenths pole, battled under a drive into the final furlong and weakened. CAIRO CAPER rounded the first turn in the two path, was reserved off the pace without cover, ranged up in the four path on the far turn, made a bid at the five-sixteenths pole, was put to a drive in upper stretch, battled with multiple foes into the final furlong and also weakened. VERSUS tucked into the three path on the first turn, was rated on the outside, came under urging in the three path on the far turn, came out to the five path into the stretch and lacked the needed response. TANK went around the first turn in the three to four path, settled on the outside without cover, was asked while dropping from the five path to the three path on the far turn and failed to respond.
