TED NOFFEY broke sharply and out a step at the start leading briefly before being displaced by SOLDIER N DIPLOMAT near the six furlong marker, settled four paths off the inside in closest aim of that rival, tucked three wide into the turn and had BUETANE advance outside and was loosely between foes from the midway point on the turn, got given a notch to work with and took over command nearing the quarter pole, swung three to four wide into upper stretch, got roused inside the three-sixteenths and went clear under a drive and prevailed kept to task to the finish. BUETANE just off the pace five paths off the inside down the backstretch, went four wide through the turn coming under coaxing near the five-sixteenths, swung five wide into upper stretch, proved no match for the top one while running on to best a rival for the place honors in the final jumps. CURTAIN CALL settled just off the pace four paths off the rail down the backstretch, tucked three wide through the turn and came under encouragement at the five-sixteenths, tipped out four wide into upper stretch, proved no match for the top one, ran on through to the finish tussling with BUETANE to the wire and was just headed for the place honors in the final jumps while clear of the rest for the show honors. SOLDIER N DIPLOMAT forwardly placed from the start, advanced to take command just outside six furlongs to go, showed the way in hand three paths off the rail down the backstretch, tucked to the two path into the turn and came under threat from a pair inside the midway point on the turn, got out to urging in response with five-sixteenths to run, got displaced from the front nearing the quarter pole and spun just off the inside into upper stretch, then weakened in the final furlong. AYE EYE broke a beat slow without incident, went to the rail briefly before ROMEO tucked in front and tipped out two to three wide down most off the backstretch, tucked inside briefly nine-sixteenths from home, then tipped out three wide and ended up four wide when placed to urging at the seven-sixteenths, angled five wide at the head of the stretch and passed a pair of tired rivals. ROMEO broke a beat slow in concert with AYE EYE but also without incident, came under hustling and went to the inside early on before tipping out to the five path five furlongs from home, angled in to the three path at the nine-sixteenths before making his way to the two path half a mile from home, went two then three wide through the turn urged along from three furlongs out, cornered three to four wide into upper stretch and made no impact. FLYIN HAWAIIAN chased just off the inside from just off the pace coming under coaxing three furlongs from home, spun two to three wide into upper stretch, faltered in the drive and was eased home in the late stages to the wire.
