HIGHLANDS WAY got bumped at the break by ARDAGH RED, raced just off the inside and then along the inside through the first turn, chased two paths off the rail down the backstretch before heading three wide through the far turn coming under a ride with five-sixteenths to go, went eight wide into upper stretch, rallied to take narrow command just inside the eighth pole, inched away to the finish kept to task. FUNNY FACTOR tracked the pace along the inside and then just off the inside coming under encouragement with five-sixteenths to go, angled four wide into upper stretch, ran on to secure the place honors. SHIRL'S SOUL TOWN raced three then two wide through the first turn, chased two to three wide coming under a ride at the five-sixteenths pole, angled out five to six wide into upper stretch, kept on to the finish. FAVORABLE SCENARIO settled just off the inside near the rear of the field, came under coaxing near the quarter pole and continued just off the inside into upper stretch, offered up a bid a furlong out, then got outkicked through the final furlong. ARDAGH RED (IRE) broke out at the start bumping HIGHLANDS WAY, grew headstrong early on pulling against the restraint of the rider heading three wide into the first turn and engaging BLOWN COVER in head to head combat three then two wide through that first turn, established sole command five and a half furlongs out as his main pace eased off and crossed from the two path to the inside, widened away into the far turn now just off the inside coming under coaxing three furlongs from home, spun three wide into upper stretch with the field taking closer order, dug in clinging to the front a furlong out but overwhelmed by a host of flanking rivals, succumbed just inside that station and weakened through to the finish. BLOWN COVER coaxed from the gate, showed the way briefly along the inside before being engaged in a duel by the aforementioned foe through the first turn, eased off that rival along the inside five and a half furlongs out and tipped to the two path as that foe took the inside five furlongs from home, gave chase in closest aim coming under urging with five-sixteenths to go, took the inside route into upper stretch and weakened.
