Footnotes
JEAN VALJEAN was hustled to the front then showed the way, moved from the inside to the two path on the turn, was asked near the quarter-pole, drifted out under a left-handed crop under threat from the runner-up in upper stretch, lost the advantage to that foe nearing the eighth-pole, fought back gamely in the final furlong, dueled under a left-handed crop to the finish and narrowly prevailed under strong urging. DETERMINED KINGDOM was taken in hand early then rated while well placed just off the pace, raced inside for most of the the turn, shifted to the three path late on that bend, gained in the four path to make a bid into upper stretch, took a short lead approaching the eighth-pole, dueled outside of the winner under a right-handed crop in the final furlong and was denied while clear for the place. CREDITWORTHY dropped back to the rear then was reserved under restraint, rounded the turn in the two path, was roused outside the quarter-pole, came into the stretch in the four path then moved out to the six path and finished willingly for the show. HEART HEADED brushed with BILLIONAIRES ROW at the start, was urged along off the pace, moved from the two path to the four path while roused for more on the turn, came into the stretch in the five path then shifted out to the seven path and gained some but lacked the needed kick. BITE AND STRIKE dropped back early then settled on the outside, moved from the three path to the five path while roused on the far turn, dropped in under a drive in upper stretch and lacked the needed response. STARS AND STRIDES was urged along off the pace, saved ground on the turn and failed to rally. BILLIONAIRES ROW brushed with HEART HEADED at the start then was hustled, tracked the pace on the outside, was asked in the three path on the turn, moved to the four path briefly outside the quarter-pole then dropped to the two path and came up empty.
