Footnotes
QUEEN ATLAS set the pace in the four path up the backstretch, waited in the three path around the far turn before coming under a ride passing the quarter, floated out to the five path in upper stretch, and drew clear. ANSWER THE CALL stalked in the five path up the backstretch, angled inside while being coaxed along entering the far turn, swung back out to the four path at the top of the stretch, and kept on to clearly be second best. EARLY DELIVERY raced off the pace in the five path, was driven in the three path around the far turn, made no closing bid, but was along for show. CHEERFUL TROUT tracked in the three path, was ridden in the two path around the far turn, but weakened in the stretch. SPECIAL AFFAIR got herded out around the first turn by a loose horse, was behind in the four path early and unable to factor. EVERY LOVING WISH pressed the winning outer pacesetter from the two path early but retreated around the far turn. LUNAR UNIT got carried out around the first turn by a loose horse, was wellback in the three path and unable to threaten. SMART STYLE got fractious as the gates opened and left without the rider, completed the circuit, was caught shortly after and walked off, then was declared a non starter after a stewards inquiry.
