Footnotes
ONE VIOLENT AFFAIR set the pace inside, inched away under coaxing late around the far turn, continued drawing clear from the two path in upper stretch, and held sway. JASSAI tracked in the three path, was roused midway around the far turn, and ran on from the three path down the stretch to clearly be second best. STRAND OF GOLD hesitated at the start, moved up in the four path around the first turn, chased from there up the backstretch, was driven around the far turn, and finished evenly from the five path down the lane for show. ONCE AN EAGLE was wellback along the inside, tipped out to the three path at the top of the stretch, and made no impact. SHABAM pressed the winning pacesetter in the two path but gave way down the lane. E M'S TREASUREGIRL raced off the pace in the three path and never threatened. RUXTON ROCKS trailed throughout.
