THE PALACE GIRL (GER) broke a step slowly, settled at the back off the inside, fanned eight wide into upper stretch, surged to a narrow lead then held. POP ART shifted in early stalking up close from outside, took closer order still in hand to press the pacesetter, bid at the top of the stretch taking a narrow lead, was overtaken just past the sixteenth pole but kept on gamely and held the place. CELTIC MOTIF (IRE) was in just a bit tight early shuffling back from between foes, stalked from near mid-division three to four wide, angled nine wide for the drive, gained steadily outside but too late. VRONTI (GB) came in a bit early moving nearer the fence, stalked near the inside up close to the leaders, moved out three wide leaving the far turn, ran on evenly. REALITY STAR broke a step slowly, was caught outside foes four wide, advanced into the far turn, evened out in the stretch. QUEEN DANCING (GB) steadied on heels when in tight early, settled off the pace two to four wide, came into upper stretch five deep and ran on. SPINNING CLASS pursued from on or just off the rail mid-pack saving ground but was one-paced and went evenly. MONEY TRAIL was off the pace inside early, was off the rail through the far turn, failed to menace. THAMES moved to the early lead shifting in to set the pace inside, steadily weakened in the stretch. BLACK DARTER was forwardly-placed stalking up close three to four wide, came up empty. MISS VALENTINA was urged at the start, chased from inside, steadily retreated. FOLLOWING AN OBJECTION BY THE RIDER OF QUEEN DANCING (GB) AGAINST VRONTI (GB) ALLEGING INTERFERENCE, NO ACTION WAS TAKEN.
