Footnotes
HOMER JONES stalked the leading pair from outside early, moved to the lead at the top of the stretch, won going away. BANG A RANG stalked from outside mid-division, went four then five wide on the turn, floated seven deep into upper stretch, chased the winner home but was only second best. NORFIE settled off the pace, raced wide through the turn four to six deep, shifted in a bit in the stretch, ran on to get up for show honors. ESTILO MAGICO was prominent early, pressed the lead up the backstretch, took a narrow lead about the sevens-sixteenths, drifted out a little leaving the turn and was overtaken at the top of the stretch, steadily weakened. OSPREY settled into stride off the pace inside foes just off the fence in the two to three path, altered out four to five deep past mid-stretch, ran on. RUSSIAN HAMMER broke a step slowly, raced near but off the fence, was never a threat but improved position. LOOKIN FOR ROSES was outpaced early, swung out seven to eight deep leaving the turn, was never close enough to threaten. AL AMEEQ chased from between foes mid-pack, came out six to seven wide in the stretch, failed to menace. MELODY WIN broke a step slowly and awkwardly, lacked early speed, trailed inside on the turn, was not a factor. EGYPTIAN KING was encouraged forward inside taking the lead after about a furlong, set a pressured pace on or just off the rail, was headed past the half, fought on briefly then faltered and faded.
