PHOENIX OF WIT (IRE) was taken back and rated off the pace inside saving ground, took closer order on the far turn moving out off the fence, sought room at the top of the stretch, split foes soon after, drew clear. SONJA HENIE had the early pace but ceded the lead content to stalk under light rating tactics, took closer order pressing the leader past the half, took over past the quarter pole, was no match for the winner but held the place. MYSTIC SEA tucked in early then switched out on the first turn, stalked from outside three to four wide, kept on in the stretch but missed second. MRS. KATZ tucked in three wide early racing off the pace, was in a bit tight and shuffled slightly, angled seven wide in the stretch, was gaining late. PERKY settled off the pace inside, came out five wide turning for home, brushed with a foe near the furlong marker, ran on. EXPECTING A WINNER settled off the pace between foes toward the rear in the early going, saved ground inside on the far turn, came out a couple paths for the drive and improved position. AUTHENTICATE NOW was outside off the pace three to four wide early, advanced some four to five deep through the far turn coming into upper stretch a bit wider still, brushed with a foe near mid-stretch, lacked the needed late kick. NAUGHTY FAVORS moved to the lead and clear after the opening quarter, set the pace inside, faltered and faded. FRIDA was up close stalking three to four deep, steadily weakened. ITS SATISFACTUAL switched outside foes early racing at the back outside four to five deep, came into upper stretch eight wide, was never near enough to threaten.
