SURPRISE PACKAGE had an awkward start, rated along the inside, was cued from the three path midway around the far turn, bid at the top of the lane, took command passing the eighth pole, and drew clear. LAKE CHAPALA tracked inside, moved up to vie for the lead passing the half, was roused from the rail passing the three-eighths pole, got overtaken by the winner entering the final furlong, but held place. ENDLESS REIGN bumped with an outer foe at the start, raced off the pace in the four path, merged inside while under a drive entering the far turn, angled out midway around the far turn but got stymied in the three path passing the quarter, then floated out to the five path at the top of the lane, and finished evenly. ZHU DADDY chased in the three path, was driven in the four path around the far turn, angled out to the six path at the top of the stretch, but was one paced. LOBO SALVAJE prompted the pace in the three path, led under a drive in the two path passing the quarter, but faded from the three path down the lane. FERAL'S JOY bumped with an inner foe at the start, trailed in the two path, was coaxed along the inside entering the far turn, but made no impact from the three path in the stretch. THAT SUN OF A GUN got fractious in the gate, set the pace in the two path early but gave way around the far turn. JUAN COLORADO bumped between foes at the start, stalked an inner trio from the four path, had to check between foes and lost the left iron passing the quarter, then yielded. AFTER A STEWARDS INQUIRY AS WELL AS AN OBJECTION BY THE RIDER OF JUAN COLORADO AGAINST RIDER OF ENDLESS REIGN FOR INTERFERENCE AT THE QUARTER POLE, ENDLESS REIGN WAS DISQUALIFIED FROM THIRD AND PLACED LAST FOR IMPEDING JUAN COLORADO CAUSING THE RIDER TO LOSE HIS LEFT IRON AND COSTING A CHANCE OF A BETTER PLACING.
