ESCAPE KEY broke alertly, came under pressure from PAYNTER'S PRODIGY travelling up the backstretch, shook that one off in the far turn, drew clear in the stretch and geared down for the final sixteenth. GOOD AS HE GETS settled off the pace, swung five wide at the top of the stretch, rallied well for the place honors, no match for the winner. STONE COLD FLEX was forwardly placed between runners, angled along the inside through the far turn, had no closing bid, held for the show award. AMERICAN UNITY tracked the pace four wide, unable to rally in the stretch, was outkicked for show. PAYNTER'S PRODIGY ranged up through the first turn to press the pace, retreated at the quarter. BOURBON STATE trailed for most, passed retreating foe. TEXAS SPLURGE chased the pace from the inside, was through after half.
