MYSTIC ISLE was allowed to settle off the pace, steadily advanced through traffic up the backstretch, shadowed the pace through the far turn before making an inside bid at the top of the lane, took a slight hold in the upper stretch to avoid MUSKET MAGIC, responded well in the final furlong to drive clear. GOLD RULES settled not too far behind the pace, ranged up three wide through the far turn, entered the stretch in a competitive position and showed a game effort to earn the place award. MUSKET MAGIC was sent to the lead before the first turn, met an outer bid from LEO Q mid way through the far turn as well as an inner bid from MYSTIC ISLE at the top of the lane, lugged in on MYSTIC ISLE in the upper stretch and back out to pinch back LEO Q, gave way to driving foes on both sides in the final furlong. HENRY'S BUDDY was rated four wide around the middle of the pack, finished evenly. LEO Q stalked the early pace setter from the three path, attempted to split foes in the final furlong but got pinched back. ROUX BUCHERRO broke alertly before opting to shadow the pace before the first turn, backed off through the far turn, could do no more in the stretch. JUANSINMIEDO settled off the pace along the inside, lacked a response to the rider's encouragement in the far turn. HALLOW'S ICE was outran.
