SURPRISE PACKAGE tracked the pace three wide, ranged up to contest two others for command in the far turn, shook off the middle foe and battled with QUISTMER in the final furlong, dug in for the win. QUISTMER quickly claimed a ground saving lead, met a couple bids in the far turn, shook the first bidder off and dueled with SURPRISE PACKAGE in the final furlong, game finish. DENYING settled in a four wide position, cued through the far turn to find a prominent position at the top of the stretch, showed a mild rally late. MIDNIGHT ONYX pressed the early pace from the two path, moved up to vie for command between foes in the far turn, weakened down the stretch. COX CANYON raced off the pace, showed little. HOLIDAY FANTASY trailed for most, passed tired foe. FORT CHARLES was rated along the inside, began retreating through the far turn.
