TEST PILOT attended the early pace outside taking the lead after three-sixteenths moving clear soon after, dictated terms while kept well off the inside in the three to four path, met an inside foe's challenge in mid-stretch, held that one under steady handling. ELUSIVE D'ORO pursued the pace from outside, moved in from four to three wide on the turn, made a mild bid inside past mid-stretch but couldn't quite get even with the winner and was fended off. RUSSIAN HAMMER was three to five wide throughout and best of the rest. STARSHIP TANGO chased from between runners early, continued from off the fence, lacked the needed late kick. GREY CHARMER swung seven wide turning for home and passed tired rivals. AUGER was squeezed back early, raced three to five wide, failed to rally. ROCK CITY ROCKET chased from inside, came out off the rail for the stretch run, faded. STAR KANOO had a brief early lead, shifted in and chased inside saving ground on the turn, weakened. OLD TOWN ROAD lacked early speed despite encouragement, came into upper stretch six wide, was never a threat. MITHRIDATES was outpaced racing off the inside two to three deep, shifted in mid-stretch, made no bids. HABERDASHERY bobbled at the start, was urged along, saved ground on the turn, altered out off the rail past the furlong marker, was never a threat.
