Footnotes
CLASSIC BALLAD settled mid-pack, tracked three then two wide along the backstretch, loomed three wide into the far turn and took command nearing the quarter marker, drew clear to upper stretch, drew off through the final furlong and was ridden out late to win as much the best. ROCIO broke a step slowly and settled to the backstretch, coaxed four wide into the far turn, bid at the quarter marker then chased CLASSIC BALLAD into the stretch, was no match for the winner into the stretch and bested the rest in the late stages. SPECIAL AFFAIR settled in the second flight and three wide early on, was well placed to the far turn, bid two then three wide nearing the quarter marker, angled widest to upper stretch, was outkicked in the lane and was a clear third. LIZZIE BABY broke in air and spotted the field to begin, advanced two to three wide nearing the far turn, swung four wide to upper stretch, could not impact the leaders in the late stages but stayed on late to improve position. HUMOR SENSE close up while three wide early, dueled through decent fractions to the far turn, was overtaken nearing the quarter marker and weakened in the stretch. EVERY LOVING WISH disputed the early pace two wide and between foes, dueled HUMOR SENSE to the far turn, was overtaken nearing the quarter pole and gave way. QURBAAN D ORO contested the early pace from the inside, pressed into the backstretch then chased to the far turn, could not keep pace nearing the quarter pole and tired in the drive. JOYS OF SUMMER settled in the second flight to begin, dropped back passing the half-mile pole, was eased through the stretch and walked off.
