Footnotes
SILVER SLUGGER raced close up to the early pace, rated along the backstretch and tracked two wide to the turn, bid between rivals nearing the quarter marker, ran in pursuit of PAYNTED WARRIOR into the stretch, responded well into the final sixteenth and proved best late. MR. PENNY PINCHER settled just off of the early pace, tracked two to three wide along the backstretch run, bid four wide nearing the quarter marker, ran in pursuit into the stretch, was outkicked into the final sixteenth but stayed on well late and got up for the place honors. PAYNTED WARRIOR vied for the early lead away from the start, set a pressured pace along the backstretch then dictated terms into the turn, met bids at the quarter pole then dug in into upper stretch, stubbornly battled into the final furlong, yielded in deep stretch and held safely for third. DR. PERRY was unhurried and lagged in the early going, advanced outside of rivals along the turn, swung five wide to upper stretch, continued to make headway at the furlong pole then could not muster a final response. UNDALAY disputed the early pace from outside of PAYNTED WARRIOR, pressed that rival into the turn then lost position nearing the quarter marker, could not keep pace to upper stretch and faded in the drive. CHROMED IMPULSE settled off of the early pace, was coaxed two then three wide to the quarter marker, swung four wide to upper stretch and did not threaten late. SPAN OF CONTROL tracked the early pace while three deep, shifted to the rail heading into the turn and chased to the quarter pole, lacked the needed response to upper stretch and gave way in the drive. MY MAN WOODY broke a step slowly, settled while saving ground and not far back in the early stages, lost position into the turn, swung three to four wide to upper stretch and did not factor late.
