Footnotes
HEATHGUARD allowed to settle in the early running, coaxed two wide and between rivals along the backstretch, shifted out into the far turn, was roused four to five wide to upper stretch, made a sustained rally into the lane then vied for the lead into the final furlong, dueled RIGEL to deep stretch and determinedly prevailed in the final strides. RIGEL was forwardly placed leaving the start, rated off of the leading early pair and tracked the pace to the backstretch, bid three wide and between foes into the far turn, rallied to upper stretch then vied for the lead into the final furlong, met the bid of HEATHGUARD past mid-stretch, dueled that rival to the final sixteenth, was outgamed in deep stretch and was clear of the rest for second. BREAK OUT rated off of the early pace and saved ground to the first turn, maintained an inside path to the backstretch run, saved all of the ground to the quarter marker then bid between rivals into the stretch, needed more into the final sixteenth but kept on late and got up for third. GROUNDED showed early speed and disputed the pace into the first turn, took command to the backstretch and carved out decent fractions to the half-mile point, set the pace to the far turn then led to upper stretch, was overtaken past the furlong pole, yielded in deep stretch and was nailed for third. LATE CALL settled in the early running, coaxed three wide and between rivals along the backstretch, chased four wide to the quarter marker then ran in pursuit to upper stretch, could not muster a final response and was outfinished late for the show honors. TWILIGHT DANCER settled in the early going while not far back, advanced between rivals along the backstretch and was well placed to the far turn, chased from the inside nearing the quarter marker, ran in pursuit to upper stretch then gave way in the final stages. LALOBA FEROZ lacked early speed and lagged to the backstretch, advanced into the far turn, swung widest to upper stretch, could not sustain a rally to the final sixteenth and flattened out late. EDDIE THE GREAT allowed to settle in the early running, roused along the backstretch and loomed three then four wide to the far turn, chased the leaders nearing the quarter pole, was outkicked to upper stretch then weakened in the lane. BIG LOUIE showed good early speed and disputed the pace to the first turn, ceded the front to GROUNDED and pressed that rival along the backstretch, chased into the far turn, lost position at the quarter pole then tired in the stretch drive.
