Footnotes
MONY MONY was close up, always traveling well through the early going, moved up to challenge for the lead approaching the quarter pole, then responded when set down in upper stretch and drew clear under steady handling. PRINCESS JULIE tracked a few lengths back through the early running, bid four-wide at the top of the stretch and finished up well to gain the place but was never a hreat to the winner. SOMNAMBULIST worked to get to the inside before the turn, then was without a path while full of run through the turn, went willingly through an opening in upper stretch, but could not quicken enough to threaten and had to settle for third. CHANNELVIEW settled near the back, well behind the pace, started to run on after passing the three-furlong pole, came about seven-wide into the stretch, and improved. CUP OF COFFEE raced close up on the inside down the backstretch, moved up late on the turn to bid for the lead at the top of the lane, but flattened out in upper stretch. CONQUERESS had the best speed from the break and went a length clear early, led the way through the turn, dug in under threat near the quarter pole but gave way in mid-stretch. LIGHTEN lacked any early speed, was always behind, and lacked a rally. FIAMMA broke a bit awkwardly, spotting the field a head start, made a mild bid on the turn, then went a bit erratic under urging in upper stretch and faltered. VICTOR VALLEY broke well, pressed the pace two-wide to the turn, then weakened near the three-furlong pole, dropped back, and had nothing to offer in the stretch.
