Footnotes
FIRST STRIKE showed the way near the inside, inched free as BABY MAX pursued into upper stretch then held sway. BABY MAX pursued from midpack two wide, took closer order along the inside reaching the far turn, tipped to the three path to take aim on the leader entering the lane, sustained his challenge through the final furlong but was kept at bay and proved second best. TALL BOY was subtly put to tight quarters between rivals at the start, settled in the three path, swung out to the six path into the lane then stayed on to reach show at the wire. PRINCE OF POWER stalked three wide, pressed the leader form the three path down the backstretch, but drifted to the four path at the quarter pole, gave way to the top pair in upper stretch then got nailed for show. LINCOLN HIGHWAY was off half a step slow, trailed in the two to three path, swung to the seven path into the lane then improved position. WELAKA pursued along the inside, saved ground to no avail. SMOKEY MANDATE tracked from the three path, chased while shifting to the five path in upper stretch then faded between horses. CHURCHTOWN stalked from the two path, chased between rivals around the far turn then faded. SEPTARIAN broke a beat slow, raced off of the pace in the two path then got outrun.
