MINIMUM FORTY was away alertly on the rail having a slim lead, continued to travel well up top while being pressed outside at the half, moved comfortably under a confident ride inside having the fence dueling up top relinquishing the front end slightly by midturn, opened up quickly when asked for more at the head of the lane in the two path and coasted home in the final furlong for the impressive win. LADY VIRAGO had an outside stalking role ahead of only the troubled starter in the early going, began to pick up the bit just off the rail with a quarter mile to run, surged between runners three wide advancing at the furlong marker, could not get to the overpowering winner late but dug in determinedly inside to hold for the place award in a photo at the end. PRINCESS OF STORM veered inwards hitting the gate on the break, was allowed to gather herself seeing the field early through the backside, had to be scrubbed on to stay interested by the half mile marker, began to figure things out reaching for more ground three wide outside foes at the quarter pole, shifted to the five path for the stretch run, had a good late charge outside rivals finding her best stride late and just missed out on the duel for the place share at the wire. SILICIUM (FR) had a good spot, well placed isolated watching the contested duo up top in the beginning stages, came under a ride making little headway on the dueling co-leaders around the bend, shifted out to the four path turning for home, finished up only one paced in the late drive between rivals but did catch a weary foe late for a minor award. BARBARA JOAN forced the issue on the outside along the backside, continued to battle outside the leader actually getting a head in front by the midpoint of the turn for a brief moment, had no answer when asked to go with the winner turning for home, shortened stride considerably down the lane and folded in the final eighth of a mile.
