DEVIL'S TONGUE was away alertly outside getting to the front, began to angle in slightly with five eighths from home, cleared off for the uncontested lead on the rail by the seven sixteenths pole, opened up sharply at will running around the turn and was kept to the task down the lane to win comfortably at the finish line. CLEAR POSITION had the two path with horses on each side in mid-pack while not far off the leader in the early stages, had tight quarters being forced inwards at the five eighths marker, chased the winner but with little headway through the bend and finished up willingly to easily best the others in the field for the second place award. SWITCHIN' TO GLIDE prompted the pace between foes in the beginning, veered inwards making it tight for the inside pair of runners with five furlongs still to run, was scrubbed on for more trying to go after the front pair in midturn but to little avail and ran on mildly down the stretch to hold for the show money at the wire. NIGHT STRIKER was on the rail in midfield in the early going, had to be steadied, losing all action on the fence when the outside rivals were coming in at the five-furlong marker, trailed the field by the half, offered a mild run taking the shortest away around the bend passing a couple of runners, did not switch leads through the stretch and was one paced saving for a minor share at the wire. CELESTIAL HEART settled on the outside in the three path in the middle of the pack down the backstretch, was going the wrong way unable to keep up to rivals while travelling three wide around the oval and lacked a rally between foes in the two path in the stretch drive. FRIENDLY was unhurried at the back of the pack outside foes along the back straight, improved passing the troubled inside runner by the half mile marker, regressed on the turn going four wide to be at the back of the pack again at the three-eighths marker and finished up belatedly outside horses down the lane to be involved in a photo for the minors in the end. STEWARD'S INQUIRY DOWN THE BACKSIDE AT THE FIVE FURLONG POLE RESULTED IN #3 SWITCHIN TO GLIDE BEING DISQUALIFIED FROM THIRD AND PLACED FOURTH FOR INTERFERENCE
