Footnotes
TEMPLE HALL broke in slightly on the start, dueled for the lead in the early going, shook loose by the three eighths pole moving well, had company on the outside by the quarter marker, spurted away again inside with a furlong to go, stayed on the incorrect lead to the wire but still increased the winning advantage at the finish line. BIG LEW battled outside early on, chased the loose leader throughout the bend, moved to the pacesetter making a bid two wide at the quarter pole, fought on the outside in upper stretch but could not match strides with the winner in the late going. BAYTOWN ANUBIS had a slow start trailing the group down the back straight, continued to see the field on the turn, shifted out getting into gear four wide at the top of the lane and closed belatedly on the outside, making a good rally for the show money in the final furlong. GLORIOUS REVENGE had an outside stalking role close to the back of the pack, made little progression around the oval, shifted out widest in the five path straightening out for the drive, drifted back inwards under right handed encouragement at the furlong marker but was outkicked in the late going for the show award. CALL ME MISSLUCKY tracked on the outside in the middle of the pack, tried to gain on the lead duo while outside another foe in midturn, moved out to the three path in upper stretch, had little to offer late and weakened between horses in the last eighth of a mile. WAMPANOAG CHIEF was bumped at the break, recouped to be in the mix inside in the beginning, settled down on the fence in midfield along the backside, saved all the ground keeping pace throughout the turn while inside another rival, had little left for the drive and faltered inside of horses in the final furlong.
