LAZIO exchanged incidental brushing at the start, tracked the leaders from the two path in behind, moved out on the turn coming to the quarter pole three wide, floated a bit deeper leaving the turn and striking the lead at the top of the stretch, lugged in a bit while changing leads, drew clear under vigorous hand urging, held well. PROUD RONIN settled outside off the pace, shifted in entering the turn saving ground on that bend, came out five wide in upper stretch, was no match for the winner but second best. COMMANDER AT SEA exchanged a light bump at the start, settled at the rear, saved ground inside on the turn, came out off the rail in the stretch, kept on but was too little too late. LONHRO'S GAMBLE was outpaced early racing toward the rear off the rail, swung six wide turning for home, came in a bit in the stretch, ran on. IMPERIAL GOLD got away well, pressed the pace up the backstretch, bid passing the five-sixteenths, weakened in the stretch. SHORT STORY LONG stalked from outside three to four wide, dropped back and faded. BENNYS JETS was urged from the start, set the pace inside under pressure, gave way.
