Footnotes
VELOCITA had a slow start to be close to the back end, ahead of only the other poor starter along the backside, made a sharp move getting good position advancing on the fence from the half to the seven sixteenths pole, sat poised on the rail tracking the pacesetter on the bend, darted thru on the fence at the top of the lane seizing command and won going with authority in the final furlong. SKYDIGGER rated kindly, content to sit back off the frontrunner, had an outside tracking position with the eventual winner around the turn, shifted out to the four path in the fray up top in upper stretch, could not quicken with the leader at the furlong marker but did close in late to be second best on this day. TWIST OF SUGAR was loose on the engine down the backside, continued to freewheel alone up top through the turn, drifted off the fence to the three path surrendering the lead to the inside winner the turning for home and evened out in the final furlong unable to hold the place share in deep stretch. TOO MANY AMYS travelled three deep keeping an eye on the lone speed down the backstretch, made little headway on the oval still having a three wide journey, swung out widest to the five path at the head of the lane and finished up willingly to be a fringe player, winning that duel late in deep stretch. WILD RED settled in the second flight between horses early on, dropped back unable to hold position midway down the backstretch, made little impression inside another near the rear around the oval, shifted to the three path for the drive to the wire but was outkicked late for the minors. MIDNITE SADIE had a poor start to trail by many along the back straight, saved ground throughout the turn closing the gap at least by the quarter pole but tired on the fence in the lane from being used up early trying to play catch up after the compromised start.
