Footnotes
VAMOS VIEJO was in just a bit tight at the start, settled outside at the back, advanced on the turn four then five wide floating out a bit further turning for home, gained quickly on the leaders, took the lead outside the sixteenth pole and edged away late under steady handling. NAPA SPIRIT (IRE) was urged from the start, soon made the lead forcing the pace outside a rival, dueled with that one racing three wide on the turn, put away the inside foe in mid-stretch but was outkicked by the winner. TRULY MISCHIEF got away well while coming out a bit at the start, was outsprinted and pressed the leader from the inside but just off the rail, retook the lead past the seven-sixteenths dueling through the turn, yielded grudgingly the final furlong. CIRCLE BACK JACK lacked early speed, saved some ground inside, came out a couple paths for the drive, showed late interest improving position between foes. CADFAEL chased from inside mid-pack, failed to rally. WET AND WILD chased briefly from between runners mid-pack, weakened. DISSECTOLOGIST was in just a bit tight after the start, chased from outside three to four wide, faded.
