WINE AFTER WHISKEY was nudged at the break to get into stride a couple of jumps out of the gate to seize command on the fence, remained up top by a slim margin on the rail while nursed along inside another dueling for the lead in midturn, spurted clear when called upon in the two path at the top of the stretch and won going away impressively in the final furlong. MY COVENANT settled near the rear in the three path with runners on either side, commenced a rally three wide around horses midway on the turn, moved to the four path but the winner was long gone in upper stretch but did finish up smartly to be well ahead of the rest of the pack for the runners up share. CARNEW was situated between rivals in the two path along the backside, came under a ride still between foes keeping pace around the oval and finished up willingly just off the fence to win the battle for the third place share in a photo at the wire. AWESOME RAINBOW advanced on the fence down the backside to sit in midfield at the half, kept pace behind the embattled pair saving all the ground on the turn, fought on determinedly inside foes having the rail in the stretch drive but just got out-nodded at the wire for the show award. KOKOMO chased the pacesetter on the outside in the early going, moved in to prompt the pace outside at the five sixteenths pole, angled to the four path in the thick of things in upper stretch but lacked a late kick when fading between rivals in the final eighth of a mile. SNIPER JACK travelled four deep outside foes at the back of the compact group at the half, travelled four wide around the turn trying to improve around horses on the outside but was making little headway, shifted out to the five path for the stretch run but had little to offer in the late running.
