Footnotes
BEE ME had good position, rating kindly on the fence keeping a close eye on the front two rivals, took the short way around the bend patiently waiting for the cue to go measuring the embattled duo midway around the bend, shifted out four wide with aim on the lead twosome in upper stretch and drove by with authority in the final seventy yards for the win. ELISSA'S MACHO broke inwards on the start, settled in midfield on the rail along the backside, was scrubbed for more losing position on the fence by the five sixteenths pole, started to gather speed in the two path by mid-stretch under left handed encouragement, had to angle out in the four path by the sixteenth pole coming up quickly on the weakening early leaders and surged strongly on the outside late to be a solid second at the wire. BACCARO POINT cleared off from the outside post to be on top getting to the fence by the half, continued up front but by a diminishing margin while slowing the temp down around the bend, narrowly maintained control inside skimming the fence at the top of the lane, did not switch leads to the finish lane, still fought on determinedly inside of horses in the late running and ended up a game third in the end. SPEEDY CONNECTION let the outside rival go on with it soon after the start to track the pacesetter outside down the backstretch, closed in through the turn to threaten outside for the lead by the quarter pole, battled with runners on either side in the two path down the lane but faded between horses in deep stretch to settle on the fringes. MR. PERFECT stalked near the rear early on, improved between horses in the two path midway around the oval, angled out five wide still between horses in upper stretch but lacked a rally in the final eighth of a mile. RAINBOWS HERO was bumped on the outside on the break, became headstrong climbing down the back straight seeing the field on the outside, made little impression travelling three to four wide throughout the turn and could only manage to pass a weary foe in the final furlong. NOISY CRICKET hopped up on the break, stalked inside another in the early going, offered a brief rally circling three wide around horses in midturn, swung out widest in the six path turning for home, could not sustain the run outside in upper stretch and emptied out in the stretch drive.
