Footnotes
REGAL AFFAIR stalked just off the rail close to the back end at the half mile pole between foes, began to reach for more ground when coaxed along, swinging outside in midturn, had a full head of steam five wide outside horses at the quarter pole and in the seven path determinedly wore down the leaders in deep stretch to get up for the victory in the final few strides. KATHERINE'S CUB veered in exchanging blows with the inside runner at the start, settled in midfield between horses with most of the field quite compact midway along the backside, settled on the outside in the third flight on the turn, closed in four wide making a good rally at the quarter pole to pose a threat in the six path with rivals on either side, battled on down the lane to briefly have a head in front at the seventy yard pole but was outkicked by the winner outside just in the shadow of the wire. MY TURN NOW was prominent between runners in the beginning, had a head in front with challengers on either side at the half, maintained a slim advantage on the fence around the oval, kept on going clinging onto the lead having the rail in upper stretch but could not find more late and faded in deep stretch to hold for the show money inside. ALEATORIC settled on the rail in the middle of the pack for the first part of the race, got shuffled back in tight inside rivals losing momentum at the seven sixteenths marker, began to lengthen stride coming off the fence with a rally at the quarter pole, gathered more speed swinging out widest in the nine path at the top of the lane and finished up with good late energy to be a fringe player at the wire in a tight photo. MORERITA broke inwards on the start but was roused to have a slim lead entering the backstretch, settled in the two path between foes involved in the scramble up top at the half, dropped back by the three eighths pole, scraped paint improving turning for home, was allowed to drift outwards under left handed encouragement at the furlong pole to be in the five path getting clear run and just lost the duel to an outside foe for a minor share in the end. MIGHTY TANNER was situated on the fence part of the scrum up top along the backside, took back off the lead pair at the seven sixteenths pole, waited on the rail behind the engaged duo appearing to have horse, had a clear lane in the hunt three wide in upper stretch but lacked the necessary late rally in the final furlong and could not threaten late. DADDY'S SECRET was away alertly right out of the blocks having control, lost forward positioning in the three path when outside rivals made an early rally at the half, travelled in the second flight outside but was hard ridden to keep up to the lead twosome around the turn, lost its path in tight between runners five wide in upper stretch and faltered in the drive. KEYTOTHEPARK advanced five deep outside of horses through the backside, moved closer to duel for the lead by the half, hounded the pacesetter outside around the oval, drifted out to the five path getting leg weary at the top of the stretch and wilted by the furlong pole. LADY BIA was under a good hold sitting behind the engaged foursome up front with a rival to the outside at the half, could not keep up with the lead group while being scrubbed on at the three furlong pole going in the wrong direction through the turn and had little show for in the six path in the drive to the finish line. RIDEAU FALLS had a poor start to be ahead of only one runner when leaving the chute, then, was checked at the five eighths pole to remain near the rear along the backside, came under a drive travelling three wide on the turn closing the gap slightly by the quarter marker, moved to eight path for the stretch run but was unable to get involved. BOSS LADY J broke outwards trading bumps with a runner on the start, lagged well behind the group down the backside, hugged the rail still seeing the field around the bend and could not factor on the fence in the stretch drive.RIDERS CLAIM OF FOUL #1 ALEATORIC AGAINST #5 REGAL AFFAIR AT THE SEVEN SIXTEENTHS POLE WAS DISALLOWED
