Footnotes
ARIANNA'S TOUR broke sharp loose on the lead leaving the gate, remained unchallenged setting a moderate pace at the half, continued up top setting an even tempo around the bend on the rail, had company outside while three wide in upper stretch but under a well rationed ride had more when called upon in the final furlong to edge clear for the frontrunning score. LADY IONA veered out on the break and had to be snatched up for a moment getting straightened out, trailed the field leaving the chute, was hard held at the rear closing the gap by the half, made a menacing move swooping around horses three wide in midturn to bid for the lead in the four path at the top of the lane, could not sustain the rally and stalled a touch unable to threaten the winner in the late going but did hold on to best the rest for the runners up share at the wire. CLEARWATER BEACH settled in the two path between rivals along the backside in a tracking role, continued to try to hold ground just off the fence in tight quarters around the turn from the three eighths marker until the quarter pole, rallied when having running room at the head of the lane scraping paint and ran on willingly inside to hold for the show money in a photo. HYMN TO HER travelled four deep outside three runners watching the frontrunner, moved in picking up the bit four wide heading into the turn to threaten the leader in midturn, could not quicken with the engaged front pair when three wide turning for home and finished up mildly in the five path in the final furlong losing the nod for the show award. YOU BE THE JUDGE had the three path with runners on either side keeping a close eye on the pacesetter, tried to hold position three wide between foes but was checked coming up to the five sixteenths marker, shifted to the five path trying to recover fighting for a piece of the prize outside at the top of the stretch but could not get involved late. GREENWICH PIKE pressed the issue on the rail slightly in the beginning, was part of the quartet tracking the pacesetter while inside at the half, was steadied on the rail in midturn when things became tight losing all her momentum to lag behind by the quarter pole, could not recover by upper stretch and cantered home well behind the group. RIDER'S CLAIM OF FOUL #5 YOU BE THE JUDGE AGAINST #6 HYMN TO HER AROUND THE TURN COMING UP TO THE FIVE SIXTEENTHS POLE WAS DISALLOWED
