Footnotes
SAVE THE DATE broke outwards on the start, recovered to press the issue in the beginning, scooted up the fence to seize command at the half, shook clear from rivals in hand midpoint of the turn, opened up even further when finally set down on the fence at the furlong marker and won comfortably when crossing the finish line. REACH FOR THE TOP broke out on the start but maintained a slim lead between foes early on down the backside, hounded the pacesetter outside at the half, chased the pacesetter in vain through the turn and could just not get to the winner in the stretch run while holding for the place share in the end. MIGHT BEE TROUBLE stalked near the rear on the inside, made a good inside move getting position on outside foes at the half, sat poised on the fence just back off the leader around the bend, skimmed the fence turning for home and closed in belatedly for the show money. WORRY LESS was forwardly placed in the four path early only between challengers, tried to progress going four wide circling midway around the bend, swung out widest in the six path at the head of the lane and finished up willingly to be a fringe player in a photo at the wire. MOVENTOTHECOUNTRY was situated in midfield going six deep, dropped back ahead of only one runner by the half, narrowed the margin going four wide throughout the turn to have a chance for a piece of the prize in upper stretch and just got outnodded at the finish line for a minor role. WORLD SHOWCASE was bumped inside on the start, prompted the early going three wide, take back off the engaged duo by the half, came under a ride trying to keep pace on the turn by the quarter pole, shifted out to the five-path turning for home but faltered between foes in mid-stretch. I'M TENACIOUS travelled in the five path in mid-division with runners on each side, co-trailed between foes with a half mile to run, offered a mild rally closing the gap between horses at the quarter marker, shifted out three wide for the stretch run but could not factor in the late running. ANITA MARGARITA was unhurried at the rear in the early going, still remained in last but in range of the group through the running around the oval, moved to the four path for the drive to the line but failed to menace in the stretch run.
