Footnotes
LA BELLEZA NEGRA was roused right from the start to clear from the outer post loose up top along the backside, battled inside with another going head-to-head throughout the turn, edged away from the tenacious early challenger by the furlong pole and had just enough left in the tank to prevail at the finish line for the gate to wire tally. SHADOW REALM tracked inside in the beginning, shifted outside pushing his way through off the pacesetter who was trying to slow the tempo down up top at the nine sixteenths pole, moved into force the issue on the outside by the three-furlong pole, dueled outside throughout the turn bobbing heads for the lead, continued to fight on even though the winner was edging away at the furlong marker, determinedly dug in late coming back on to make it a horse race in deep stretch but was denied at the finish line. ARABIAN PRINCE was part of the chasing group behind the frontrunner down the backside moving in the three path between horses, still was in hard pursuit inside another running in the second pairing around the turn, shifted out off the cover off the embattled lead duo in upper stretch five wide and finished up strongly to be solid third not that far off the winner at the wire. FORESTER'S FORTUNE settled on the outside of another in mid-pack, kept pace and position moving just off the rail through the turn, swung out widest in the seven path turning for home and closed in belatedly outside to settle for a minor role. INDY ONE chased the pace four deep on the outside down the back straight, tracked in the second flight going three wide outside another runner on the bend, moved to the five path at the head of the lane but faded between runners with a furlong remaining. MOON LANDING settled in the middle of the pack inside of horses, was coaxed for more edging up of the rail throughout the turn, shifted just outside at the top of the stretch in with a chance for a piece of the prize with a furlong still to run but evened out in the late going. MASON'S GAMBLE stalked near the rear only having a couple of runners beaten along the backside, crept up making a mild run on the fence at the quarter pole and finished up on the rail gradually coming on in deep stretch. PAT'S GAMBLE was in tight leaving the chute having to be checked between runners at the eleven sixteenths pole, stalked near the rear at the half mile marker, could not make any advancement through the oval and had little to show for in the stretch drive. PRICELESS WILL was void of early foot trailing down the backstretch, continued to lag behind the rest of the group making little progress travelling around the turn, shifted to the four path in the stretch run and could only pass a weary foe in the late going. PEJA DU had to be taken up losing momentum and position when the inside rival moved out off the frontrunner midway down the backside, was then shuffled back slightly inside of runners at the three eighths pole, dropped back through the turn and folded by mid-stretch. RIDERS CLAIM OF FOUL #7 PEJA DU AGAINST THE #6 SHADOW REALM DOWN THE BACKSIDE IN THE VICINTIY OF THE NINE SIXTEENTHS POLE RESULTED IN #6 SHADOW REALM BEING DISQUALIFIED AND PLACED LAST FOR INTERFERENCE
