EZ TINA was antsy in the stall prior to the start, broke cleanly when the gates opened up to have the early advantage, shook clear from rivals by the half, travelled comfortably up top dictating terms around the bend, remained well in control in upper stretch never being set down by the rider, was tapped on the right shoulder at the furlong pole to stay focused and won going away for the gate to wire score. OHANA LULU missed the break by a step, was then hustled inside two others for better forward position down the backstretch, took a hold sitting behind the frontrunner at the half on the fence, waited for the cue to move saving all the ground behind the leader on the turn, shifted out being nudged for more at the quarter pole coming with a rally and gamely chased the winner in earnest to the wire easily besting the rest for the runners up share at the finish line. BANDOLIER watched the lone speed between runners along the backside, took closer order to shadow the pacesetter outside at the half, was under a busy ride trying to get to the winner midway on the turn but was making little gain, still remained in the mix for share between horses in the four path straightening out for the drive and ran on evenly getting the nod to be a non-threatening third at the wire. AMERICAN POPE was away alertly to prompt the issue on the outside early on, dropped back by the half to track the loose leader three deep outside of runners, regressed on the turn going outside of horses three wide at the three furlong pole, shifted out widest in the five path turning for home and finished up one paced losing the battle outside for the show award in a tight photo. ALCATRAZ ISLAND had a sluggish beginning to be at the rear after the start, passed a rival by the half, made a brief run splitting horses with three eighths still to go, came under a ride at the quarter marker making little headway and had no finish to give just off the fence through the lane. SARATOGA GOLD broke a step slow to begin, was unhurried near the rear down the back straight, could see the field on the rail by the half, had to be checked briefly coming up behind runners with the group bunching up at the three furlong pole, made little progression taking the short way around the turn and failed to fire on the fence in the stretch drive.
