Footnotes
ICE CHOCOLAT (BRZ) moved well on the inside in the second flight watching the engaged duo, patiently settled on the rail through the turn waiting at the quarter pole inside while outside runners were making a rally, began to close in just off the fence in upper stretch, shot through the opening at the furlong marker and won going away when crossing the finish line. SEDBURYS GHOST tracked three deep on the outside in mid-pack in the beginning, was relegated to last by the half, made a sharp move circling runners four wide with a quick turn of foot midway around the bend, loomed five wide at the top of the stretch, dueled to the eighth pole but was outkicked by the winner who had an ideal inside trip. CRUMLIN LAD pressed the pace inside in the beginning, took over control on the rail by the half mile pole, was collared outside by the quarter pole, dug in stubbornly four wide at the top of the stretch but gave way grudgingly between runners in the final furlong. MAGNA TIME hopped on the break to be well behind in the early stages, caught up to a rival passing that one on the inside by the half, had little on the turn seeing the field again by the five sixteenths pole, skimmed the fence turning for home and showed some late interest to be a fringe player in the end. NO MORE OPTIONS travelled in the second flight outside another, made a brief rally three wide between rivals trying to match strides with the outside runner who was circling around horses in midturn, moved to the four path in upper stretch but could only finish up one paced through the lane. THE GREAT OZ had a narrow lead on the outside early through the backstretch, relinquished the front end to the inside rival to chase the pace by the half, was asked for more between runners with horses coming with a move at the quarter pole, offered no response, emptied out in upper stretch and cantered home in the final furlong.
