NAPA SPIRIT (IRE) dictated terms in the two path with a rival inside applying some mild pressure in the beginning, shook loose moving comfortably by the half, controlled the pace setting an even tempo increasing the advantage around the oval, had a commanding lead three wide in upper stretch and had plenty left late to win by a good margin at the wire. VAMOS VIEJO was allowed to settle into stride co-trailing inside another along the back straight, picked up the bit inside of two other rivals when asked for more run in midturn, had a full head of steam five wide between horses in upper stretch and stormed home with a solid late charge but could not get to the winner when crossing the finish line. LEGAL ATTACK (GB) settled on the inside in midfield, improved on the fence by the half, took the short way around the bend inching up by the quarter pole for the place share, scraped paint turning for home and ran on mildly for garner the show award in the end. ECHO WITH LAUGHTER travelled in the three-path tracking the front duo in the early going, offered a mild rally three wide outside of challengers at the three furlong pole but with the pacesetter getting away through the turn, shifted to the two path in the mix for a share in upper stretch but flattened out in the final eighth of a mile to settle on the fringes. YOUR VALENTINO was outside another travelling in mid-division, came under a drive going in the wrong direction on the turn three wide outside of horses at the three furlong pole, swung out widest to be in the six path at the head of the lane but made little impact in the drive to the wire. HEAT MERCHANT was void of early foot sharing the rear outside another along the back straight, could not keep up to rivals on either side midway around the bend to be at the back of the pack and had little to offer in the stretch drive while just off the fence. DISSECTOLOGIST pressed the issue on the rail when the gate opened up, took back to track the loose leader while between rivals at the half, made little headway coaxed for more run with horses on each side at the three eighths pole, shifted to the four path for the stretch run but wilted in the final furlong.
