Footnotes
PROUD RONIN stalked in mid-pack with runners on either side, ranged up on the outside by the five sixteenths pole, angled out three wide at the quarter marker coming with a strong rally, loomed menacingly in the four path in upper stretch and determinedly wore down rivals in the last sixteenth of a mile to get up just before the wire outside for the win. TUTTI CONTENTI was hustled to get the early advantage leaving the chute, then was reined in to track the frontrunner while inside another along the backside, waited on the fence around the bend, shifted out coming on at the quarter pole to be in the hunt three wide in upper stretch, poked its head in front for a moment battling down the lane between foes at the sixteenth pole but was just outkicked by the winner nearing the wire. IMPERIAL GOLD pressed the pace to start, cleared off getting to the fence down the backside, rolled along unchallenged setting an even tempo around the oval, still was holding on well enough on the rail in upper stretch but began to get leg weary clinging up top by the furlong pole and faded in the final sixteenth just lasting in the end for the show money. AMERICAN DECISION travelled three deep outside of a couple of runners in mid-division, edged up on the turn between horses by the quarter pole, angled to the four path turning for home, stayed on the incorrect lead to the wire but kept on fighting nonetheless and almost got up for the third place share outside at the finish line. COHERENCE settled on the inside of horses in the middle of the pack, came under a ride but making up no ground through the running around the oval, hugged the rail at the top of the lane but could not get involved in the late running. JMR SPEEDY ESCAPE had an outside tracking position down the backstretch, was scrubbed for more chasing the pacesetter but could not make any headway between foes through the turn and had little left for the stretch run wilting three wide in upper stretch. TRUE SHOT could see the field entering the back straight, remained close to the back of the pack with a half still to run, could not make any progression travelling three wide around the bend, shifted to the six path for the drive but failed to menace. LITTLE RED DOMI had a stalking role between foes in the early stages, trailed the field by the half mile marker, lagged behind throughout the turn and could not factor in the stretch drive.
