SAUGEEN assumed command going into the first turn, controlled the pace slowing the tempo down along the back straight, was headed on the outside with a quarter mile from home and spurted clear with authority when finally set down at the furlong pole to win on the front-end going wire to wire. MAGICAL FACTOR was forwardly placed three wide into the initial bend keeping an eye on the pacesetter, prompted the pace early down the backside, moved in again trying the leader bidding outside with a quarter mile from the wire, could not go with the winner who had more in the tank with a furlong from home and ran on to the end to best the others comfortably for the runners up share. WHISKEY N SODA had the rail travelling in mid-pack in the beginning, stalked inside of another down the backstretch, began to lengthen stride finding a seam in the two path at the quarter pole, shifted to the four path for the stretch running and had a good solid late charge to capture the show money in the final few jumps outside. PALACE VIEW (IRE) travelled three wide in a stalking position early on ahead of a couple of rivals, took closer order by the three eighths pole, chased the lead duo who had it to themselves around the far turn with a quarter mile to run and just lost out holding for the show award in deep stretch. ONENIGHTSTANDARDS had the fence stalking near the rear, co-trailed inside at the half, was relegated to the sole runner at the back on the far turn, moved out four wide at the quarter pole, continued to angle outside, widest in the six path for the drive and passed a couple of tired foes in the stretch running. SHERIF ALI hopped in the air to trail the field leaving the gate, shared the back end outside another down the backstretch, offered a mild run in the two path three furlongs from home, shifted between foes five wide at the head of the lane but had no finish to give in the final furlong. FLIRTING WITH FIRE had the rail sitting a few lengths behind the leader heading into the first bend, sat alone watching the front duo down the backside, travelled in the second group at the three eighths pole, was asked for more run at the quarter marker offering little response and yielded on the fence in upper stretch.
