AWESOME RAINBOW assumed command on the inside under a good hold having a slim lead down the backstretch, continued to be nursed along up top narrowly maintaining the advantage throughout the turn, spurted clear in an instant when called upon for more turning for home and was kept to the task staying focused in deep stretch to be well ahead of any challengers at the finish line. HOLIDAY COST was part of the rear trio having foes on each side at the half mile marker, made a smart rally three wide at the quarter pole taking closer order, swung out widest in the five or six path with a full head of steam, drifted in sharply on the wrong lead at the furlong marker until getting straightening out by the sixteenth pole and finished up well to be second best but well back of the winner at the wire. CATEGORY FIVE tracked in the second flight running in tandem with an inside foe for the first part of the race, edged up on the lead pair on the by the quarter pole, shifted to the four path in the hunt between horses in upper stretch, was brushed outside in tight between drifting rivals at the sixteenth pole with the rider standing up in the saddle for a stride or two but did fight on late to dig in and get the third place share just before the finish line. SEMPER LIBER pressed the issue on the outside, still remained on the outside off the leader's flank hounding the pace around the turn, chased the frontrunning winner in vain at the top of the stretch just outside and faded in the last furlong to be nabbed for the show award outside in the final few jumps. GOOD TO BE LUCKY had a good set-up all alone watching the engaged duo, sat poised behind the embattled pair having the fence inside another runner around the bend, moved out to the three path at the top of the lane but failed to fire in the final eighth of a mile. BALBONI'S CREW was situated on the rail in midfield, had to be throttled down coming up behind runners at the half, came under a busy ride making no headway midway around the turn, scraped paint in upper stretch but flattened out inside of horses by the furlong marker. DJOSER settled in midfield between rivals, offered a brief run circling outside another on the turn from the three eighths pole until the quarter marker, angled out to the three path at the head of the lane but failed to fire in the stretch running. DIGITAL SECURITY had a stalking role ahead of only the slow starter, was relegated to the rear at the three-furlong pole having the fence inside of runners showing little around the oval, hugged the rail turning for home but had little to offer in the drive to the wire. FUN FELLA had a slow beginning shifting off the rail in the three to four path at the back of the pack in the early stages, made little movement going three wide outside foes on the turn and came up empty in still in the three-path upper stretch. STEWARD'S INQUIRY AND RIDERS CLAIM OF FOUL #9 CATEGORY FIVE AGAINST #8 HOLIDAY COST IN THE VICINITY OF THE SIXTEENTH POLE WAS DISALLOWED AND RESULTED IN NO CHANGE
