WAR PAINTER had the rail position watching the engaged duo in the beginning, rated kindly settling into a good rhythm sitting behind the pacesetter with a rival to her outside down the backstretch, was nudged on to go with an outside foe making a move at the five sixteenths pole, shifted off the fence at the quarter marker coming with a run, posed the only threat in the four path turning for home, determinedly wore down the winner by the sixteenth pole and won going away in the end. TAKEMETOTHEBEACH pressed the issue after the start, took control on the fence heading into the first of two turns, was loose up top trying to slow the pace down but with the wind at her back actually quickened the tempo at the half, rolled along still up top with little pressure applied on the final bend, was asked for more on the rail with the winner bearing down outside at the furlong pole but had little left to counter punch when the winner drove by with a sixteenth remaining and ending up easily besting the rest for the runners up share with the field very strung out when crossing the finish line. FORTYFIVESEVENTY broke in the air at the start, was allowed to settle into stride three wide at the back heading into the initial bend, co-trailed on the outside down the back straight, had a quick turn of foot advancing rapidly outside of runners at the three furlong pole, stalled at the quarter pole trying to get up to the front two runners on the far turn and ran on evenly to be a very clear but non threatening third at the finish line. WAR SIGNAL had an early lead under the wire for the first time just off the rail, settled in the second flight watching the loose leader while outside the eventual winner down the backstretch, was asked for more at the three eighths pole with little response, weakened around the final bend and lost touch with the lead three horses by the top of the stretch, cantering in still securing a minor placing. ZEALOUS MOON had a stalking trip in the two path early on between rivals, shared the rear inside another runner along the backside, could see the field at the three eighths pole unable to keep up to the pack, dropped further behind through the far turn and was well back galloping home down the lane.
