Footnotes
MRS. HOT SHOT had a stalking trip near the rear, began to uncork a rally three wide between horses midway around the turn, made a sharp move splitting horses coming with a run at the quarter pole, shifted out six wide reaching for more ground in upper stretch and powered past on the outside for the win in the last sixteenth of a mile. SPEAK UP co-trailed on the outside going four deep down the back straight, made a big swooping move four wide around horses throughout the turn, was floated out widest in the nine path at the top of the lane gathering more run and plugged away, never giving in down the lane to be a solid second best but was unable to get to the winner in the late going. MOVENTOTHECOUNTRY broke out on the start, settled in mid-pack with runners on each side down the backstretch, edged up on the front two rivals going three wide between horses around the turn, shifted out five wide for the drive, lost its path at the furlong marker, angled out getting a clear lane by the sixteenth pole and closed in to get the show money at the finish line. CRUMLIN TROUBLE pressed the issue three deep outside, tracked the lone speed by the half, sat all alone chasing the frontrunner in a quick pace around the bend, closed in three wide with a furlong to go between horses but flattened out late to settle on the fringes in the end. ZIPPY GAMBLE was nudged along on the rail part of the back trio in the early stages, inched up taking the short way around the bend by the quarter pole, shifted out looking for a seam three wide in upper stretch, lacked running room stuck behind a wall of runners losing all its momentum by the furlong marker, shifted out finally getting clear run late but could not recover in time to pose a threat. WORLD SHOWCASE broke inwards on the start, had a head in front of two others when entering the backstretch having the fence, rolled along unchallenged up top setting a rapid pace around the oval, maintained a diminishing lead just off the rail in mid-stretch but was engulfed by a host of outside rivals at the sixteenth pole. SIGHT TO SEE shared the rear end while inside another travelling in the three path along the backside, was relegated to the sole runner trailing the field at the five sixteenths pole, picked up an inside tiring rival at the quarter pole but could not make an impression between rivals in the four path in the drive to the finish line. NO VISOR was going three deep in midfield down the back straight, offered a brief turn of foot at the five sixteenths pole, angled out in the eighth path at the top of the lane but yielded between horses in the last furlong. STERLING HEIGHTS was brushed on the inside at the break, improved along the fence down the back straight to sit in mid-division with a half mile still to run, rallied in the two path between foes at the three eighths marker, had a chance for a small share just off the rail turning for home but could not sustain the run and folded by the sixteenth pole. SEATTLE SIGNAL vied between rivals leaving the chute, had an inside position tracking with an outside foe by the half, retreated steadily on the fence by midturn and could not factor in the stretch drive.
