REGAL GUEST pressed the early pace from outside easing back off the leader nearing the half, stalked into the turn, surged to the lead seventy yards out and clear. ARTEMUS CITYLIMITS set the pace from off the rail, edged clear near the half, was reeled in late. WAGNER switched out up the backstretch, stalked the leading pair three to four wide, kept on late but missed the place. HUMBER RIVER settled off the pace, took closer order inside on the turn, ran on evenly in the stretch. LAST AMERICAN EXIT settled outside off the pace, was forced wide fanning out from three to six wide late on the turn, gained late. POSEIDON STEEL raced inside at the back, saved ground and passed tired rivals. WAR STRATEGY chased near the inside but off the fence about mid-division, came out five wide in upper stretch, ran on without threatening. FRIENDLY GHOST lacked early speed despite encouragement, went two to three wide on the turn, was never near enough to threaten. SILVER IS BEST raced mid-pack, went three to five wide on the turn, failed to produce a bid.
