Footnotes
HARPER CITY had a narrow advantage on the fence down the backside, continued on the inside of two others being nursed along controlling the pace through the turn, edged away from the early speed rival still well in hand at the quarter pole, opened up with little urging in mid-stretch and cruised home for the gate to wire score. BANKER'S HOURS had a stalking trip near the rear inside, began to pick up the bit shifting out passing an inside foe at the quarter pole, swung out widest in the six path gathering more speed turning for home and had a good late charge to be a clear second best behind the runaway winner. CADFAEL had a good spot isolated in midfield behind the contesting lead trio, edged up saving all the ground around the bend, skimmed the rail making a stretch rally at the top of the lane and closed in willingly to capture the battle in a tight finish for the show money. DISSECTOLOGIST travelled three deep outside keeping a close eye on the engaged duo early on, prompted the pace battling three wide on the front end through the bend, shifted to the four-path fighting for a piece of the prize in upper stretch and finished up evenly to be a fringe player in the end. ENCHANT ME was unhurried, trailing along the backside, remained at the rear seeing the field through the running on the turn and did mange to show some interest to catch a weary straggler in the late going. CUT'EM LOOSE pressed the issue between rivals along the back straight, continued with runners on either side vying up top around the oval but could not match strides with the winner by the quarter pole, had little left for the drive and yielded between horses at the eighth pole. CLASSIC DANCER stumbled badly on the break, dislodged the rider leaving the gate and walked off. STEWARD'S GENERAL INQUIRY REGARDING THE BREAK WAS DEEMED THAT #1 CLASSIC DANCER DID RECEIVE A FAIR START AND NO ACTION WAS TAKEN
