Footnotes
MAD DOG N JOE was quick out of the gate to be loose up top around the first bend, opened up even more by the half, continued to widen the advantage midway through the final turn, was under a vigorous ride still in command turning for home and was kept to the task down the lane to prevail for the frontrunning score by a dwindling margin at the finish line. CORNWALL was nested on the rail sitting in mid-division, was well back off the runaway leader but sitting in the third spot keeping an eye on the front pair, could not make any headway on the last turn, shifted to the three path continuing to plug away relentlessly between foes and grinded it out down the stretch to get his nose down right at the finish line to be second best. JIM'S HOPE stalked close to the back while outside of runners, improved going three deep down the backstretch, was hard ridden through the last turn making some headway outside of horses, angled to the four path straightening out for home and finished up willingly but lost the nod in a picture at the wire for the secondary share. AUDAX MINOR had a tracking role opting the let the pacesetter go on with it in the early stages, was roused at the quarter pole making little gain with the winner still well ahead and in command, shifted just off the fence in the stretch drive holding the second place position at mid-stretch but faded inside of rivals in the last sixteenth for only a minor placing in the end. ONENIGHTSTANDARDS travelled three wide at the rear on the initial bend, continued to see the field along the back straight, passed a straggler at the three furlong pole and had a little interest in the stretch run to catch another tired foe right at the finish line outside. SAILOR'S PASSION was unhurried near the rear, stalked ahead of only one runner into the backside, progressed at the half on the rail, was scrubbed for more at the three furlong pole inching up around the final turn, scraped the paint in with a shot for a minor share inside a few others at the head of the lane but gave way at the sixteenth pole. JAMIESTA settled on the outside another in mid-pack, dropped back early down the backside between horses, retreated steadily around the last bend and lost touch with the group in upper stretch.
